Kathy Minchin - Adelaide Hand Therapy
Kathy graduated with a Bachelor of Applied Science in Occupational Therapy in 1978. She initially worked in a community based setting which encouraged injured or disabled people to remain in their own homes, then commenced work in a large general hospital in 1980 where she became interested in treating acute hand injures. She commenced private practice and has treated hand injuries since January 1986, working closely with Adelaide Hand surgeons (both Orthopaedic and Plastic) and General Medical Practitioners.
She treats a range of hand injuries with emphasis on small finger fractures and soft tissue injuries (tendon and nerve repairs, crush injuries, dislocations, dupuytrens, burns). Injuries and/or deformities may be related to work, motor vehicle accidents, sport, leisure and degenerative arthritis.
Since November 1987 she has practiced in association with Mr Malcolm H. Wicks, and the Hand and Upper Limb Physio group.
She is a member of the Australian Hand Therapy Association and was Secretary/Treasurer from 1988 to 1992. She is also a member of the Australian Association of Occupational Therapists.
